John Malascalza, Supervisor here at the Statesville Civic Center, ensures everything runs like a well-oiled machine. Originally from Aston, Pennsylvania, John brings his expertise and a hands-on approach to his role.
John’s journey to the Civic Center is a testament to his commitment and versatility. Before joining us, he was the Maintenance Manager at an Assisted Living Facility, where he honed his skills in keeping environments safe and functional. His knack for fixing things is legendary—if something’s broken, John is the go-to guy!
Outside of work, John is a family man through and through. Happily married with three children, he recently became a grandpa, a role he's embracing with joy. Family time is precious to John, and he loves nothing more than camping trips with his loved ones.
When he's not fixing or maintaining, you’ll likely find him boating on Lake Norman or playing a little golf—though he humorously admits he's "scary bad" at it!
John’s passion for sports is equally strong. He’s an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Hockey holds a special place in his heart too, reflecting his energetic and dynamic personality.
So, next time you see John around the Civic Center, remember that his commitment to excellence and his warm, down-to-earth nature make him a cornerstone of our team. Here’s to many more years of great service, family fun, and—hopefully—improved golf skills!
