Kenny Roberts, Director

Kenny Roberts - Director at the Statesville Civic Center

Kenny Roberts has been serving as the Director at the Statesville Civic Center since August 11, 2008. His journey with the City of Statesville followed his roles with the City of Salisbury and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

A Georgia Southern alumnus, Kenny attended on a baseball scholarship, excelling as a pitcher. His high school baseball career in Charlotte saw him being recruited by several schools. Although his professional career diverged from sports, his passion for baseball endures, and he maintains close ties with his college teammates.

Kenny is married to a wife he adores, Sharon. Together they have three grown children and two grandchildren. He treasures family time and enjoys indulging in old westerns, recounting movie plots, and watching Bob Ross paint "Happy Little Trees" while snacking on sunflower seeds.

A fun fact about Kenny is his love for Hallmark Christmas movies, which he eagerly anticipates each year, often sharing the entire, albeit predictable, plot with his friends and colleagues. His romantic side shone through when he orchestrated a surprise vow renewal for Sharon on the beach, with their entire family in attendance.

Kenny enjoys the beach, swimming, hiking, and, most contentedly, sitting on his deck with Sharon, listening to Bob Segar while admiring his meticulously maintained yard.

His role as Director at the Statesville Civic Center is complemented by his warm personality and dedication to his family and community.
