Amye Burks, a proud native of Statesville, has been at the Statesville Civic Center since July 2012. Amye serves as the Marketing & Event Coordinator. With a lifelong love for her hometown, Amye is often seen walking through Downtown, admiring its beauty and sharing a smile with everyone she meets.
Amye's professional journey is as diverse as it is impressive. She has worn many hats, including DJ, Reporter, Journalist, Event Coordinator, Stay-at-Home Mom, Bartender, Karaoke Host, Videographer, and Brand Representative. For 14 years, she successfully ran her own videography business, capturing the essence of special occasions through event and wedding videos, as well as corporate and non-profit productions.
Amye’s passion lies in helping the community create unforgettable events, from weddings and baby showers to fundraising galas and memorials. She believes the Civic Center is more than just a venue; it’s a place where memories are made and cherished.
A graduate of West Iredell, Amye went on to earn a degree in Mass Media Communications from Western Carolina University (Go Cats!).
Outside of work, she is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, kayaking, tubing, skating, and just about any activity that gets her outside. Amye also loves working out, which brings her immense happiness.
At home, Amye is a devoted dog lover, spending time with her four beloved dogs—Buckshot, Waffles, Eggo, and Foxy Roxie. She also cherishes moments with her three grown children and close friends.
Guided by her personal motto, "Don't go gently into that good night but come sliding in on two wheels, half on fire," Amye is committed to living life to the fullest and creating as many memories as possible along the way.
